About The Author: Ronald Narmi
Rear Admiral Ronald Narmi, U.S. Navy Retired, is the seventh of eleven children born to Mike and Gertrude Narmi and the grandson of Giuseppe Narmi. Having lived with, or in close proximity with, Giuseppe for 47 years, he weaves great detail in this extraordinarily colorful memoir.
Admiral Narmi served with distinction in the U.S. Navy and has been awarded 14 military decorations. A Navy pilot, his assignments include command of an aviation squadron, command of a aviation wing composed of six squadrons, command of the nation’s largest war college, The Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and command of all NATO forces in Iceland.
Admiral Narmi is the first Iowa State University Navy ROTC program to be promoted to Admiral. In addition to a BS degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Iowa State, he has a MS degree in Nuclear Physics from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, a MS degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, a MS degree in Administration of National Security Policy from The George Washington University, and a Distinguished Graduate of The Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He also attended summer executive training courses at Harvard and at Oxford University in UK.
